Cascade YC FC was founded in 1973 by a group of local people who wanted to provide a footballing opportunity for young people in the Hengoed area. The team started out playing in the Caerphilly & District League, and in 1982 they were promoted to the South Wales Alliance League.
The team has enjoyed a successful history in the South Wales Alliance League, winning the league title on four occasions (1987, 1990, 1996, and 2000). They have also reached the final of the South Wales Challenge Cup on three occasions (1990, 1996, and 2000), but have never won the competition.
