Sporting Clube de Portugal, commonly known as Sporting CP or simply Sporting, is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Lisbon. The club is best known for its football team, which competes in the Primeira Liga, the top tier of Portuguese football. Sporting is one of the "Big Three" clubs in Portugal, along with Benfica and Porto.

Sporting was founded in 1906 by a group of students from the Real Liceu de Lisboa. The club's first home ground was Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, but it moved to the Estádio José Alvalade in 1956. The Estádio José Alvalade is currently the third largest stadium in Portugal, with a capacity of 50,000 spectators.
