The EXPANDERS were founded in 2019 by businessman Sanjiv Goenka. The club's name is derived from the word "expansion", which reflects the club's ambition to grow and become a major force in Indian football.
The EXPANDERS made their ISL debut in the 2020-21 season. They finished the season in 10th place, but they did reach the semi-finals of the ISL Trophy.
Stadium
The EXPANDERS play their home matches at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 spectators.
