Ákisá FC was founded in 1976 by a group of Portuguese expatriates. The club quickly became one of the top teams in Macau, winning the Macau First Division League in 1978, 1980, 1981, and 1982.
The club's most successful period was in the 1990s, when they won the Macau First Division League four times (1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995) and the Macau Cup twice (1992 and 1994).
The club has struggled in recent years, finishing outside the top four in the Macau First Division League in each of the last five seasons.
