Los Muchachos del Río is an Argentine football (soccer) team from Quilmes, Buenos Aires Province. The team was founded in 1924 and currently plays in the Primera D Metropolitana, the fifth tier of Argentine football.


Los Muchachos del Río was founded in 1924 by a group of young men who lived in the Río de la Plata neighborhood of Quilmes. The team's original name was Club Social y Deportivo Río de la Plata, but it was changed to Los Muchachos del Río in 1930.

The team has spent most of its history in the lower divisions of Argentine football. However, it did reach the Primera B Metropolitana, the third tier of Argentine football, in 1986.

Los Muchachos del Río's most famous player is Carlos Bianchi, who went on to win the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup with Boca Juniors.
