Pisa Sporting Club, commonly referred to as Pisa, is an Italian football club based in Pisa, Tuscany. The team currently plays in Serie B.
The club was founded in 1909 as Pisa Sporting Club and refounded in 1994 as Pisa Calcio (and registered in Eccellenza, the regional football division in Italy), after the cancellation of the former because of economical troubles.
Pisa's home ground is the Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani, which has a capacity of 20,000 spectators.
History
- Pisa's most successful period was in the 1980s, when they played in Serie A for six consecutive seasons. Their best finish in the top flight was 11th place in 1982.
- The club has also won the Coppa Italia Serie C twice, in 1986 and 2008.
- Pisa has been relegated to Serie C multiple times, most recently in 2018.
