Putra Manggala Football Team

Putra Manggala is a football team from Tulungagung, East Java, Indonesia. The team was founded in 1968 and currently competes in the Liga 3, the third tier of Indonesian football. The team's home ground is the Gelora Merdeka stadium.

History

Putra Manggala was founded in 1968 by a group of students from Tulungagung University. The team's first president was Mr. Soetrisno. Putra Manggala quickly became one of the strongest teams in East Java, winning the Liga Indonesia Third Division in 1980. The team also reached the final of the Piala Indonesia in 1982, but lost to PSMS Medan.

Putra Manggala experienced a decline in the 1990s, but they bounced back in the 2000s, winning the Liga Indonesia Second Division in 2005. The team also reached the semi-finals of the Piala Indonesia in 2006.

Putra Manggala has been struggling in recent years, but they are hoping to return to the top flight of Indonesian football in the near future.
