Real Tbilisi was founded in 2018 by a group of football enthusiasts. The club's first season was in the Erovnuli Liga 3, the third division of Georgian football. The team finished the season in third place, narrowly missing out on promotion.
In the 2019-20 season, Real Tbilisi finished the Erovnuli Liga 3 in first place and were promoted to the Erovnuli Liga 2. The team finished their first season in the second division in sixth place.
