Rex Bellamy Football Club is a Nigerian professional football club based in Akure, Ondo State. The club was founded in 1976 and currently competes in the Nigeria National League.
History
Rex Bellamy was founded in 1976 by a group of friends who were passionate about football. The club quickly rose through the ranks of the Nigerian football pyramid and made its debut in the Nigeria Premier League in 1980.
Rex Bellamy enjoyed a successful spell in the Premier League, finishing as runners-up in 1982 and 1983. However, the club was relegated to the Nigeria National League in 1986.
Rex Bellamy has since bounced back and forth between the Premier League and the National League. The club currently competes in the National League, where they finished in 10th place in the 2021/22 season.
Stadium
Rex Bellamy plays its home matches at the Akure Township Stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 15,000 spectators.
