The club was founded in 1906 and originally played in the Amateur Football Association. They joined the Southern Amateur League in 1925 and have been members of the league ever since.
Richmond & Kew have won the Southern Amateur League on four occasions, most recently in 1977. They have also reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions, in 1976 and 1980.
The club's home ground is Ham Playing Fields, which is located in Ham, Richmond. The ground has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
