The club was founded in 1921 and originally played at Herns Lane. They moved to their current stadium, The Urbaser Stadium, in 1995.
The club's most successful period came in the 1970s, when they won the South Midlands League Premier Division in 1972-73 and reached the final of the League Challenge Trophy in 1974.
The club has also won the Herts Charity Shield on 11 occasions.
