Westbury Storm was founded in 1972 as a youth team. The club entered the Bolton Sunday League in 1974 and won the league title in 1977. In 1980, the club joined the North West Counties Football League Division Two. The club won promotion to Division One in 1982 and to the Premier Division in 1991.
