Wheldrake FC was founded in 1920 and played in the York & District League until 1974. The club then joined the York League, where they won the Premier Division title in 1981. Wheldrake FC joined the York Minster Engineering Football League in 1988 and have won the Premier Division title twice, in 2009 and 2022.
