The club was founded in 1893 and originally played at the Railway Institute ground in Micklegate. They moved to their current ground, New Lane Pitches, in 1995.
The club has won the York Minster Engineering Football League Premier Division on four occasions, most recently in 2019-20. They have also won the York Senior Cup on three occasions.
