SSE Championship

The SSE Championship is the top level amateur football league in the Republic of Ireland. It is currently sponsored by SSE Airtricity.

History

The SSE Championship was founded in 1985 following a reorganisation of the League of Ireland. The first season of the league was won by Bohemians.
