About Alliance League

Introduction

The Alliance Football League is an amateur football league based in Leicestershire, England. It is the biggest Sunday Football League in the county, with over 100 clubs competing in its various divisions.

The league was founded in 1986 and has been growing steadily ever since. It is now one of the most popular amateur football leagues in the country.

The Alliance Football League is affiliated to the Football Association and its clubs play to FA rules. The league also has its own set of rules and regulations, which are designed to ensure that all clubs compete on a level playing field.

Divisions

The Alliance Football League has six divisions: Premier, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, Division 4, and Division 5.

The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is home to the best clubs in Leicestershire. The bottom two clubs in the Premier Division are relegated to Division 1 at the end of each season, while the top two clubs in Division 1 are promoted to the Premier Division.

The other divisions are also structured in a similar way, with the bottom clubs in each division being relegated and the top clubs being promoted.

Cup competitions

The Alliance Football League also has a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Presidents Cup, and the Charity Shield.

The League Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league and is open to all clubs in the Premier and Division 1. The Presidents Cup is open to all clubs in the league, while the Charity Shield is contested between the winners of the League Cup and the Premier Division champions.
