The HESSFL was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just 8 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.
The HESSFL is affiliated to the Sussex County Football Association (SCFA). The league's headquarters are in Hastings, East Sussex.
Divisions
The HESSFL currently has 1 division. The teams in this division play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top team at the end of the season is promoted to the next division, while the bottom team is relegated to the previous division.
