The Cambridge University MCR League is the postgraduate strand of college football at the University of Cambridge. MCR stands for Middle Combination Room, the University term used for its postgraduate student community. The league brings postgraduate teams from Cambridge colleges and related university groups into a regular inter-collegiate programme.
It sits within Cambridge’s wider college-football structure, alongside men’s, women’s and JCR competitions. University Sport identifies the MCR League as a competition of around 12 teams each year, giving postgraduate players a distinct route into organised university football.
Matches are normally played at weekends during the first two terms of the academic year. The MCR teams also take part in Cuppers, Cambridge’s college knockout competition, which concludes with a final at the end of Lent term.
The competition is administered through The FA Full-Time service, where the current MCR Cambridge Football League record provides fixtures, results, tables and club information. Team numbers and the exact shape of the competition can change from year to year, so Full-Time is the best place to check the live programme.
Students who want to play should contact their college’s postgraduate common room or football team. Some colleges run their own MCR side separately from undergraduate teams, while the University’s sports service can help direct prospective players to the relevant college-sport contacts.
For current fixtures, results and tables, visit the Cambridge University MCR League on The FA Full-Time. TeamStats is an independent football directory. It is not the league or The Football Association.
