North West Youth Alliance

The North West Youth Alliance (NWYA) is an amateur football league for under-18 teams in the North West of England. It was founded in 1998 and currently has over 100 member clubs.

Structure

The NWYA is divided into four divisions: Premier Division, Division 1, Division 2, and Development Division. The Premier Division is the top division and is played on a Saturday. The other three divisions are played on a Sunday.

North West Youth Alliance action

The top two teams from the Premier Division are promoted to the EFL Youth Alliance North West, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division 1. The top two teams from Division 1 are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division 2. The top two teams from Division 2 are promoted to Division 1, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Development Division.

Cup competitions

The NWYA also has a number of cup competitions, including the Open Cup, the George Heslop & Neil Thomason Memorial Cup, the Presidents Cup, and the John Gardener Memorial Cup.

North West Youth Alliance match

The Open Cup is open to all member clubs. The George Heslop & Neil Thomason Memorial Cup is for teams in the Premier Division and Division 1. The Presidents Cup is for teams in Division 2 and the Development Division. The John Gardener Memorial Cup is for teams in the Development Division.
