Premier Amateur Football League

The Premier Amateur Football League (PAFL) is a football league in Ireland for amateur clubs. It is the top division of the Amateur Football League (AFL), and is contested by 12 teams. The PAFL was founded in 1972, and the current champions are Templeogue United.

History

The PAFL was founded in 1972, following the merger of the Leinster Senior League and the Munster Senior League. The inaugural season of the PAFL was in 1973, and was won by St. Patrick's Athletic. The PAFL has been dominated by a few clubs over the years, with Bohemians winning the league a record 12 times. Other successful clubs in the PAFL include Shelbourne, Dundalk, and Shamrock Rovers.
