Rochdale, Bury & District Sunday Football League

The Rochdale, Bury & District Sunday Football League (RBDSFL) is an amateur football league in the Greater Manchester area of England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has 44 teams competing in four divisions.

History

The RBDSFL was founded in 1922 by a group of football enthusiasts in the Rochdale and Bury areas. The first season saw just 10 teams compete, but the league has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in the country.

RBDSFL action

The RBDSFL has produced a number of professional footballers over the years, including former England internationals David Platt and Chris Waddle. The league also has a strong reputation for developing young talent, and many players have gone on to play at a higher level after starting out in the RBDSFL.

Current Season

The 2022/23 season is currently underway, with the top division being sponsored by Love Energy Savings. The current league champions are Avenue FC, who won the title in 2021/22.

The RBDSFL is run by a volunteer committee, who are responsible for organizing the league and ensuring that it runs smoothly. The league also has a number of referees who are responsible for ensuring that the games are played fairly.
