Introduction

The Amateur League (TAL) is a football league that takes place in Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Pune, Goa, Chennai and Nagaland. It was founded in 2017 with the aim of providing a platform for amateur footballers to compete at a high level.

The TAL Chennai league is played in a 7-a-side format. The season runs from October to March, and each team plays each other team once in the league stage. The top four teams then progress to the knockout stage, which culminates in a final.

The TAL Chennai league is open to all amateur footballers, regardless of age or experience. The registration fee is INR 1000 per team.

History

TAL CHENNAI match

The TAL Chennai league was founded in 2017 by a group of football enthusiasts who wanted to provide a platform for amateur footballers to compete at a high level. The inaugural season was a success, with over 30 teams participating.

The TAL Chennai league has grown in popularity in recent years, and now attracts some of the best amateur footballers in the city. The 2022-23 season was the most competitive yet, with the final going to extra time.

The TAL Chennai league is played in a 7-a-side format. The matches are played on 70x50-yard pitches, with a goal size of 8 feet by 24 feet.

The game is played with a standard size football. The match duration is two halves of 25 minutes each, with a five-minute break in between.

The offside rule applies in the TAL Chennai league. A player is in an offside position if they are in front of the last defender, including the goalkeeper, when the ball is played to them.
