Introduction

The VVvvvvvvvvvvvv is an amateur football league in the Netherlands. It is the top tier of non-League football in the country.

The league was founded in 1954 and currently consists of 18 teams. The teams play each other twice, once at home and once away.

The winner of the league is promoted to the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of professional football in the Netherlands. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of amateur football.

History

The VVvvvvvvvvvvvv was founded in 1954 by a group of amateur football clubs in the Netherlands. The league was originally called the Tweede Divisie, but was renamed to the VVvvvvvvvvvvvv in 1971.
