Away league match played on 17 December 2011.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

The home team came into this match expecting an easy game but is was far from easy for them.....

On a bitterly cold afternoon with hail stones the size of golf ball coming down just before kick off the home team were expecting to walk over the Nant, and they started the brighter of the 2 teams, and right from the off they looked to dominate proceedings, and within 4 minutes opened the scoring through a defensive mistake which led to the first goal, Abernant slowly started to get into the game with both teams creating chances but it was the home team who struck again on 26 minutes, this came from a corner and poor defending left their forward an marked in the box with a clear header on goal 2 - 0 to the Lamb.

Both teams continued their attacking but again a defensive mistake cost the Nant, a poorly taken short goal kick from the Nant sent the ball to the Lambs forward who easily took  the ball of the Nant’s centre half and coolly slotted it past the past the Nant’s keeper, 3 - 0 to the Lamb.

Abernant were far from out in this game, and were right back in it on 39 minutes with a superb individual goal from Karl Williams, he picked the ball up just inside the home teams half and jinked his way through the home teams players and struck a powerful shot past the despairing dive of the home teams keeper, 3 - 1, the rest of the half was dominated by the Nant but poor defending cost them yet again right at the death of the half with the home team scoring by a through ball past a high defending Nant team Half Time 4 -1 to the Lamb.

Abernant made 1 change at the break with Mark Anthony coming off and Joshua Watkins coming on, there were  a couple of positional changes made as well, which seemed to work as it was the Nant who took the initiative in the Second half straight from the whistle, the Nant were full of vigour and it paid off with some neat inter-link play between the Nant’s midfield and their target man up front Dylan Thomas-Daniels who coolly played the ball to Steve Evans who slotted the ball into the back of the net 4 - 2 to the Lamb, it was all 1 way traffic the Nant dominating play with little chances coming to the home team and it was another great team move from the Nant resulting in the next score on the 67th minute, the Nant played the ball from back and great inter-link play again from Karl Williams and Steve Evans got the ball to Dylan Thomas-Daniels who once again played a delightful ball to the feet of Ryan Thomas who smashed the ball into the net, 4 - 3.

Abernant kept pressing for the equaliser, which nearly came on the 75th minute, the ball was played to the feet of Dylan Thomas-Daniels who whipped the ball into the home teams box only for the despairing dive from Joseph Turner to miss the ball with the home team’s goal at his beckoning,

But it was the home team who scored the next goal on the 83rd minute ending any hope of the Nant taking any points away from this game which they disserved, Final score 5 - 3 to the Lamb.

A slow start and a couple of defensive errors cost the Nant in this game, a great second half display again almost got the Nant the points which they desperately need but it wasn't to be, but they can take heart from the second half display and take it into the next game.....
