Away league match played on 16 November 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

A different kind of match report today just for shits and giggles. We have played better on at least 4 other occasions but we won which means we have 3 points! The dirty, wet pitches don’t seem to help but we did the job!
Josh – Didn’t make 1 mistake all game. Dominated his box and was really unlucky with the 1st goal. If ever he deserved a clean sheet this was the game but we couldn’t shore up the defence enough to give him that. In fairness he didn’t have many saves to make but what he did he did well aplomb!
Mike Baker – Mike actually put some challenges in this week which was great to see. At his own admission I’m sure he would have liked a better first touch. Their forwards didn’t get any change down his wing though so job done – well done!
Rich Bulgaria – One word, absolutely outstanding. Absolutely bossed the defence, winnings headers, clearing through balls and he cleared 3 goal bound shots in the final 20 minutes. Positioning was great so well deserved MOM! Best game for the AFC by some!
Luke – Another solid CB/LB display, clearing anything and everything that came his way. I’m sure he won’t forget the first 3 slices he did though, I certainly won’t! When we win, Luke Plays – that’s all we need to know!
Rob (Good Rob) – Rob didn’t seem to think he had a good game but I beg to differ. Nothing got by him defensively and he also created a few chances as well as nearly scoring a peach of a goal. Lots of energy and this guy actually talks through the game – everyone take note!
Serdal – Bossed the first half with the ball and had great pass completion rate. Even messed the opposition up verbally which in turn led to our 2nd goal. Spat the dummy out with Voller with their verbal assault but was integral part of the win.
Colin – Another decent game for YaYa as he dominated the middle of the park at times. Created some great chances, we just win he could win a header!
Bruff – Not my best game by a long shot but we seemed to do enough to win it. Personal highlights were winning a free kick from their fat CB, not diving for a penalty and then missing an incredible tough last minute chance!
Steve – Industrious performance again from Steve – adds a battling element the team definitely needs. Created chances, won 50/50’s, had a few shots (from 30+ yards unfortunately). Welcome back from injury mate!
Nelli – Definitely broke the 4 pint rule the previous night. Made some good runs and was free on many an occasion, unfortunately the MF couldn’t’ quite pick him out though. Scored a very good but also extremely controversial goal. Next time please square it to Bruff!!!
Martin- Definitely broke the 4 pint rule the previous night. Scored a good goal, set up what should have been another goal in the dying ambers and had a few chances fly the wrong side of the post. Considering how hangover he probably was it was another impressive performance from the CF! p.s the goal was a tap in.
Bruno – Another outstanding display from Bruno. This guy outpaced their defenders (don’t laugh Rich) and took his 2 finishes brilliantly. Involved in some great link up play throughout the game and if the team had more composure would have had a couple of assists as well. Top performance from Brunaldo!
Matt – Came on at CB pretty early on and there was no way we were going to let him leave the pitch. Dominated in the air, floor and anywhere in-between. Possibly got away with a naughty over the ball tackle but that’s the kind of steel we need to show from time to time. If he had played for 90 minutes could have been a MOM contender but great showing again!
Mike Baker – The Baker’s can fight it out over who the original. Baker’s first AFC appearance was a solid one as he sured up the defence for the final 20 minutes as well as making a few runs down the wing. The other Baker better watch out as this team doesn’t have room for the both of them!
Voller – Had a few neat touches through the game but definitely didn’t enjoy the boggy conditions. Spat the dummy out with Serdal but that’s water under the bridge now! Used his speed to outwit opponents and made some good passes through the middle.
Fowler – Came on for a cameo to see out the win. Can’t fault him but not enough time to influence proceedings. Not a traditional winger but he did a sterling job.

Overall thoughts:

• Solid, hard fought win which gives us another 3 points – we made it hard for ourselves though
• Please turn up 45minutes before kick-off else it ruins the warm up and team talk
• Not entirely convinced by the diamond formation!
• Outstanding games from Rich and Bruno – they both live together so please let us know what you are having for breakfast boys
• As per warm up tradition, we have now made 20 passes against Voller, Bruno, Colin & Baker – that’s 4 blow job’s please.
