Boythorpes superb start to the season contnued today at a sun drenched Somersall Park. Billy Furniss came in for the injured Martin Potter in goal, Captain Dean Brown returned in the centre of midfield, and Scott Bennett dropped to the bench. The blues pushed forward from the start, and in the 4th minute a great ball from Lee Walton picked out Lee Wright, whose cross was knocked away for a corner.

At the other end a header back to Furniss from Hardy was punted  high up the  field, controlled by Wright who picked out LEE WALTON who did the rest firing past the keeper for 1-0 with only 5 minutes on the clock. After 8 minutes a good move down the left wing by North Wingfield saw a great cross superbly cut out by Goodwin. They began to pour more pressure on the home defence as Lawrence lost his footing allowing the winger to cross and pick out a team mate unmarked 6 yards out but he headed over.

Back up the other end and a great run by Wright saw another corner won, Bennett floated it over but the keeper was impeded in the melee.Bonson found Widerman in space on the quater hour and he made ground with a solo mazy run but found himself crowded out. Wingfield went close 5 mins later when a striker was allowed to bring the ball down and turn in the box but hooked his shot over.

Boyhorpe added to thier lead on 24 mins, a corner was won after a save by the Wingfield keeper, Bennett floated the corner in near post and WRIGHT did the rest nodding the ball home. Just after the half hour Furniss did well to smartly tip over a stinging snap shot, and from the corner he punched the ball away to Waton who set off with a run but his control ;let him down and the ball went for a throw. Widerman pushed forward in the 34th min and his pinpoint cross picked out WRIGHT who headed home his second of the match.

Bonson went close a couple of minutes later but the keeper parried his shot and the ball was cleared. Boythoirpe however made it FOUR on 41 mins, a cross by Brown was put behind for a corner, Bennett put the ball into the 6 yard box and GOODWIN stabbed home a carbon copy of his goal last week. Wright looked certain to grab his hat trick on the stroke of half time, Higginbottom found Bonson in acres of space, he raced forward into the box and drew the keeper before squaring the ball to Wright who tried to pass the ball into the net, but it came back off the post. HALF TIME Boythorpe...4 north Wingfield M.W....0

From the restart Higginbottom found walton up the left wing with a sweet pass, he took the ball on before crossing low into the box but the keeper saved smartly with his foot and the ball went for another corner. Widerman was unlucky to see his shot come back off the post as the corner in caused another goalmouth scramble, but he got his name on the score sheet just 2 mins later, a ball down the line to Wright was collected before being crossed to WIDERMAN who slotted the ball home.

Boythorpe began to control the game playing some classy stuff at times, Brown had a good chance on the hour when a corner fell to him, but he fired over. WIDERMAN grabbed his SECOND of the game and Boythorpe's SIXTH after 68 mins, Higginbottom knocked the ball forward and a trio of defenders got into a terrible mix up as Wright put pressure on them, they failed to clear the bouncing ball and it fell to Widerman who fired home. Higginbottom again sernt a great pass forward, but Wright shot inches wide.

BROWN got the goal he deserved on 73 mins a ball hoofed up into the air by a Wingfield defender fell to Bonson, who in turn found Brown outside the box and his shot ripped into the net past the diving keeper. Wingfield gamely pushed forward, and a mistake by Hardy saw him lose the ball, but he muscled the defender out and the ball went for A corner, from the resulting kick the ball was headed over by an unmarked striker who should realy have done better. The keeper again denied Wright, parrying a Walton cross away.

After 80 mins Paul Walton made a welcome return to the team replacing the impressive Bennett, and could have scored from his first touch but he took too long and the chance was lost He almost made up for it on 85 mins, great work by Bonson saw him pick out Walton in the middle but he headed just wide. Johnson came on at left midfield for Bonson after 86 mins, but it was the Wingfield keeper who had the last say of the game making a breathtaking double save, denying Wright his hat trick.
