AFC Wolverhampton City U13 travelled to THE BLACK COUNTRY Alternative PROVISION (BCAP) on 18 October 2026 for a 12:30pm kick-off in a 9-a-side league away match against Sedgley White Lions U13 Blue. The match ended in a commanding 11-2 win for Wolverhampton, showcasing their attacking prowess and tactical discipline over the 60 minutes plus added time.

Wolves lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Elliot Street on the right, Jenson Jones centrally, and Oliver Lea on the left. The midfield quartet consisted of George Dunne on the right wing, central midfielders Josh Lea and Bailey Holmes, and Gabriel Quintyne-Morris on the left flank. Harrison Szymanel led the line as the lone striker, supported by the midfielders pushing forward. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity with three at the back while allowing width and creativity from the midfield four, with the attacking midfielder role taken by Gabriel to link play and create chances. The substitutes named were Isaac Sutheran and James Turley.

The game burst into life early on with Gabriel Quintyne-Morris opening the scoring in the third minute, demonstrating Wolves’ intent from the outset. Just a minute later, Josh Lea doubled the lead, putting the visitors firmly in control. Sedgley White Lions responded with a goal of their own in the eighth minute, but Wolves quickly reasserted dominance.

At 13 minutes, Harrison Szymanel capitalised on an assist from George Dunne to extend the lead to 3-1, showcasing the effective interplay between midfield and attack. Shortly after, at the 16-minute mark, Wolves made a double substitution: Isaac Sutheran replaced George Dunne, and James Turley came on for Josh Lea, signalling a tactical refresh to maintain intensity.

The changes paid dividends immediately as Gabriel Quintyne-Morris scored again in the 17th minute, assisted by Szymanel, reinforcing his influence on the game. The first half concluded with Wolves firmly in control, leading 4-1 at the 30-minute half-time whistle.

At half-time, Elliot Street was replaced by Josh Lea, who returned to the pitch to bolster the midfield. Moments later, Gabriel Quintyne-Morris provided an assist for George Dunne to score, increasing the advantage to 5-1. Oliver Lea then found the net in the 32nd minute, assisted by substitute Isaac Sutheran, further extending the lead.

Wolves continued their relentless attacking display with Harrison Szymanel scoring twice more, once assisted by James Turley in the 37th minute and then converting a penalty in the 42nd minute, pushing the score to 8-1. Sedgley White Lions managed to pull one back early in the second half at 47 minutes, but Wolves’ response was swift.

Substitutions at 48 minutes saw Gabriel Quintyne-Morris replace Szymanel and Elliot Street come back on for Jenson Jones, refreshing the squad’s energy. Isaac Sutheran then added his name to the scoresheet in the 49th minute, followed by two further goals from Gabriel Quintyne-Morris in the 52nd and 54th minutes, the latter assisted by George Dunne.

The scoring spree continued with Elliot Street netting in the 56th minute, assisted by Bailey Holmes, rounding off a comprehensive attacking performance. The final whistle confirmed an emphatic 11-2 victory for AFC Wolverhampton City U13.

Gabriel Quintyne-Morris was deservedly named Player of the Match, his multiple goals and assists pivotal in Wolves’ dominant display. The team’s tactical setup and fluid substitutions ensured sustained pressure and control throughout, leaving Sedgley White Lions struggling to contain their opponents’ attacking threat.
