Ambassadors got their first win of the season with a convincing 3-0 win against Harting. Harting started off with more possession in the opening 5 minutes but Ambassadors were looking the more dangerous. The first chance falling to Oppe with a low drive from a through ball from Grey but the keeper got down well to save. Some neat midfield play saw Ben Chivers Gibbs sprinting down the wing beating his man and finishing with a low cross in the box that Oppe was just beaten to by the defender.

Ambassadors began to control the game keeping possession with the back four spreading the ball wide. Jones put Alex Chivers Gibbs through in the channel who put in a high cross that Oppe challenged the keeper on, resulting in a loose ball falling to Ben Chivers Gibbs who was unable to convert from the tight angle.

Soon after Ambassadors felt they could have had a penalty when Oppe was bundled over off the ball when going up for a header but the ref played on, Harting were on the attack and countered down the right side but great link up play from Burrel and Bushy snuffed out the attack and sent Noller bursting through the middle, a quick one-two back heel with Oppe put Noller through and onside but a rushed finished put it over the bar.

Harting were being physical & resilient at the back but Grey found himself inside the box unmarked and forced a great save from the keeper. The resulting corner was whipped in far post from Ben Chivers Gibbs and Burrell was there with the free header to power it back across goal and into the roof of the net.

Minutes later Ambassadors had another dangerous set piece, Blazey whipped a dangerous ball in that the keeper failed to come for resulting in a weak clearance that fell to Jones who put the ball back in and Burrell again with the header forcing a fine save from the keeper tipping onto the cross bar.

In the second half Theobald was back in midfield and Ambassadors started strongly, their high press forced one of Harting’s CB in to an error that Ben Chivers – Gibbs capitalised on and beat the keeper with a low strike at the near post.

Harting came out strong after the second goal and changed to a 4-3-3 throwing men forward. They started to keep the ball and after some nice link up play managed an effort on goal with a low header from a dangerous cross but Treagus made a good save and collected.

Grey was off to give Toculet his debut on the RW with BCG coming into CAM. Toculet made the difference immediately and re -energised a lagging Ambassadors team. It wasn’t long before he burst through the defence and got hacked down by the last defender, a penalty was given but was later changed to a free kick. Jones stepped up but could only find the wall.

Harting countered down the left and some neat play found themselves in the channel but Burrell came across, collected and then sent Blazey driving forward who beat one player before being brought down just over half way. The resulting freekick delivered by Blazey found Burrell once again who was unmarked and came round the back only to be let down by the bounce.

Ambassadors really started to keep the ball with fresh legs on the pitch with Latham, Mason, Wells and Sharp coming on for Jones, Theobald, Oppe and Bushell. It wasn’t long before Latham put through Alex Chivers-Gibbs who went down in the penalty area and this time the ref gave it. Noller stepped up but could only find the outstretched leg of the keeper who he sent the wrong way.

Moments later Wells collected a loose ball in midfield and sent Alex Chivers Gibbs forward who beat his man and hit a 30 yard switch ball to Toculet who controlled superbly well, beat his man, rounded the keeper and blasted home for the third goal and first for the club.

Ambassadors had the fresh legs to be able to control the pace of the game for the last 10 minutes and brought it home giving the club their first win of the season.
