Aztecs Commandingly Conquer Saints in 8-3 Thriller!
Arborfield Aces U10s Aztecs delivered a spectacular performance, dominating Ascot United U10 Saints with a decisive 8-3 victory at Farley Hill Primary School on the morning of September 20, 2025. In a thrilling 7-a-side league encounter, the home side showcased impressive attacking flair and tactical strength to secure a comfortable win.
The Aztecs’ starting line-up featured Byron confidently commanding the goal, with Tommy Johnson and Oscar forming a solid defensive partnership. Cameron and Theo anchored the midfield, providing width, creativity, and essential links between defence and attack. The attacking front was led by George and Jacob, whose speed and pressing constantly challenged the Ascot defence. Jasper was ready on the bench, eager to make his mark.
The match exploded into action, with Ascot United netting an early surprise goal. However, the Aztecs' response was swift and emphatic. Just six minutes in, Jacob demonstrated his clinical finishing, expertly converting a corner delivered by Theo to level the score. He then quickly doubled his tally, putting Arborfield ahead and setting a dominant tone for the rest of the game.
The introduction of Jasper at the 12th minute, replacing George, intensified the Aztecs’ attack. Jasper was quickly amongst the goals, finishing a superb move at 21 minutes, assisted by a precise pass from Tommy, who had skillfully advanced from his defensive role. The first half concluded with the Aztecs holding a commanding and well-deserved lead.
Second Half Dominance and Clinical Finishing
The second half saw a continuation of Arborfield's relentless attacking pressure. While Ascot managed to pull a goal back at the 30-minute mark, the Aztecs immediately shut down any hope of a comeback.
Jasper was in phenomenal form, netting three spectacular goals in quick succession at 32, 36, and 40 minutes, completing a stunning hat-trick! Crucially, each of these goals was set up by the outstanding play of Jacob, who proved to be a pivotal creative engine throughout the half. Not content to just assist, Jacob also found the back of the net himself at 38 minutes, showcasing excellent composure. A powerful long-range strike from George further tested the Ascot goalkeeper, highlighting the team’s constant offensive threat.
Despite a final goal from Ascot at 39 minutes, Arborfield’s dominance remained absolute, with Jasper adding a final flourish to his tally late in the game, assisted by Theo, to cap off a remarkable individual and team effort. The final 8-3 scoreline was a testament to the Aztecs’ attacking prowess and tactical discipline throughout the entire 50 minutes.
