Arborfield Aces U10s Aztecs welcomed Wargrave Wolves U10 Greys to Farley Hill Primary School on 13 September 2025 for a 9-a-side league encounter that kicked off promptly at 12:00pm. The home side produced an emphatic display, running out 8-2 winners after a commanding performance over the 50 minutes of normal time.
Arborfield set up formation, deploying two central defenders to provide a solid defensive base. Tommy and Oscar marshalled the backline, tasked with repelling the Wolves’ attacks and initiating play from the back. Byron took his place in goal, ready to command the penalty area. Up front, the Aztecs lined up Jacob, Ethan, and Theo, each charged with stretching the opposition defence and capitalising on scoring opportunities. The attacking also consisted of George, and Jasper, all expected to link defence and attack while supporting both flanks.Â
The match burst into life early on as Jacob opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Jasper’s short pass found Jacob in space, who confidently slotted the ball home to give the Aztecs an early lead. Just three minutes later, the home side doubled their advantage through defender Tommy Johnson, who unleashed a right-footed strike from outside the box following a neat short pass from Theo. George followed swiftly with a goal of his own in the 35th minute, again set up by Jacob’s clever play. Despite another goal from the Wolves in the 36th minute, Arborfield’s dominance was unquestionable.
George struck once more in the 38th minute to push the lead to 7-2, showcasing his ability to contribute decisively from midfield. The final goal of the match came in the 44th minute when Byron ventured forward to score with his left foot from a cross delivered by Theo, sealing a comprehensive 8-2 victory for the Aztecs.
