*GOAL FRENZY! ACES SMASH PUMAS 6-1! UNBELIEVABLE JEFF!*
Right, let's get straight to Farley Hill Primary, where Arborfield Aces U10s Aztecs have put on an absolutely clinical display against Eversley & California Youth U10 Pumas. It finished 6-1 to the home side on Saturday, October 4th, 2025! And get this, lads: that's five out of five wins for the Aces this season, and their second cup win already! Tremendous stuff!
The Aces lined up with a strong squad: Byron in goal, Oscar, Tommy, Cameron, Ethan, Jasper, Theo, Jacob, and George.
JACOB AT THE DOUBLE!
We were barely underway when Jacob got the scoring started, a lovely finish after Tommy Johnson put it on a plate for him down the right. But hold the phone! Eversley hit back quickly to level it up. A moment of hope for the Pumas, but that's about all they got!
Jacob wasn't having any of it though. He popped up again after Jasper showed some real midfield genius to cut open the defence. Ethan then made it three, tucking away a chance crafted by Theo's sharp work. The big thing today for Coach Chris, though, was how well the team passed the ball around—that fluid movement was key! At the break, the Aces were already cruising at 3-1.
PUMAS FUMING AS JACOB HITS HAT-TRICK!
The second half was more of the same, really. Jacob completed his hat-trick to make it 4-1, and you could feel the pressure lift off the stadium roof! Now, listen to this: the scoreline of 6-1 is a decent win, but frankly, it should have been closer to double figures! The Aces had chance after chance, but they were taking that one extra touch! Lads, just take the shot quickly, for goodness sake! Still, Tommy bagged two very late goals, in the 47th and 49th minutes, to wrap up a 6-1 demolition!
As the goals rained in, Eversley's discipline absolutely evaporated. You could see the frustration boiling over! They started flying into challenges, putting in a series of heavy tackles in midfield. The referee's whistle was blowing left, right, and centre, awarding the Aces free kick after free kick. The Pumas just couldn't handle the heat!
DEFENSIVE HEROICS & PLAYER OF THE MATCH!
It wasn't just the attackers shining! We had some brilliant defensive action, too. In goal, Byron pulled off a spectacular one-on-one save in the last quarter to keep the Pumas out! And when four Eversley attackers were clean through on goal, Tommy showed incredible speed and desire to get back all by himself, dispossess them, and put it out for a corner! That is dedication!
And finally, the Player of the Match. It goes to the goalscorer, Jacob, but not just for his three goals, which were excellent, but for his unbelievable work rate! He was up front scoring one minute, and tracking all the way back to help defend the next. That, my friends, is what you want to see!
The Aces put on an absolutely clinical display, proving too organised and powerful for an Eversley side that lost their heads. A terrific cup win for Arborfield!
Next week, they put the cup run aside and it's back to the league with an away game against Camberley Town Royals. Let’s hope they can keep this fantastic run going!
