Away cup match played on 21 April 2012.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

This was the final group stage of the Supplementary Cups, a point would see us play in the McMaster Cup Quarters and a win would see us top our group.

With a few key players out due to injury & sickness a slight reshuffle was needed and after the performance of last week the boys looked as if they were back in form. The first half was pretty even with both teams playing well and very little goal mouth action just proved that both teams had very strong defences.

Half time: 0 . 0

The second half was much the same as the first with both teams’ defences giving very little away and it would take a good bit of football to win this match. Ryan Hannah who had struggle with his breathing eventually had to come off after 50 minutes to be replaced with his brother Stuart who six minutes later would be involved in a good bit of football to create the breakthrough. In the 56th minute Noah Crenshaw ( who had worked tirelessly throughout the match ) gathered the ball on the right wing carried on forward the found Stuart Hannah with a pass on the edge of the box, Stuart turn with the ball and threaded a perfectly weighted pass that split the Holywood defence and Rhys Mackie powered threw to stick the ball into the top right hand corner, 1 : 0 Ards. We knew that there was still a lot of work to be done and the boys should true grit and determination to keep Holywood at bay. The back four were solid as a rock and Captain Jack Hare was back to his best as he bossed everything that came his way and when the ball did get threw Jai Sykes had it covered as he dominated his box.

FULL TIME: 1 . 0

Well done boys a hard fought win today and finished top of the group what more can we ask, you all show grit and determination to get this result and deserved the win. This was a great game of football by both teams and a great advertisement for the South Belfast League, both teams came to play football.
