Another 3 pts today and overall it was well deserved. The game started with the lads well on top. Owen started our first attacking move when he played a long ball out of defense up to Ross on the halfway line. Ross beat his marker with ease then played a superb ball into James just inside the area who got his shot away which was well saved by their keeper. The next few minutes were a bit scrappy with both sides making mistakes and losing possession in the midfield areas. Jordan and Dan had to work hard in midfield and Sam and Owen were also kept busy at times at the back and Ben had to make a couple of fine saves to keep us in it. The lads then had a spell of continued pressure, which finally resulted in a goal. Jordan won possession in midfield and found James in the area whose shot was blocked, Ross latched onto the lose ball and had his shot cleared off the line, again Ross picked up the lose ball and managed to find Dan who fired in from close Range. The first goal was soon followed by a second, Owen ran down the left flank and found James with a great pass, James turned neatly and found Jordan running into the box who fired in from just inside the box. The Eagles, like ourselves last week were not deterred by going two down and Sam and Owen were kept busy at the back and it wasn’t long before they were back in it when their striker hit a fine shot into the roof of the net giving Ben no chance. The two-goal advantage however was soon restored with a well-worked team goal. Sam found Dan with a ball out of defense who in turn found Jordan. Jordan beat his marker and found Ross with a superb ball. Ross still had work to do and side stepped his marker before curling his shot wide of the outstretched keeper. HT 3-1.

The second half was more difficult for the boys and they all had to work really hard Dan and James both suffered injuries, which kept them both quiet for the rest of the game. Charlie was asked to play in three different positions during the second half and understandably found it difficult to settle into the game. However we still managed to create more chances with Ross and Jordan both going close. The move of the game came when Owen played a delightful ball to Jordan down the left flank. Jordan and Ross combined well and Jordan continued his run into the box, Ross then found Jordan with a great ball and Jordan just put his effort over the bar. Their second goal was a bit of a gift. Dan passed the ball back from well inside the oppositions half back into our own half and their striker latched onto the back pass and fired home. Some strong defending by Callum and Owen made sure we held on for the last minutes of the game and it ended with a 3-2 victory.

Summary: We deserved the win today and at times our football was superb. This week credit must go to Ross and Jordan whose link up play was great. Ross ran and ran all through the game and scored a nice goal. He held the ball up well and tackled back to help break down the play a man of the match performance.
