Away cup match played on 27 March 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Blackham went in to the semi final against Southborough on the back of a disappointing result the week before but were keen to progress to the final. The number of injuries and Sky deciding to bring the kick off time forward to show the game live didn’t help but there was still a strong squad to pick from.

Blackham came flying out the blocks and after 5 minutes James Lattitmer found himself through on goal and after a great touch calmly scored.

The team carried on attacking and a Usian Bolt like turn of pace from Gozzy saw him through on goal where he rounded the keeper and put it in the back of the net.

At this stage Blackham were playing some superb football with the defence looking solid, the midfield not giving Southborough any time on the ball and the front 2 causing all sorts of problems to their defence.

The third goal then came after some great work by Bowlesy on half way line released Axel down the left where he showed great determination to slide the ball past the goalkeeper and send the Blackham fans wild. New fan Kevin nearly snapped his lead in excitement and the fans were singing about going to Wembley.  3-0 after 15 minutes!!

Blackham carried on playing some nice stuff as the Southborough pikies were arguing among them self’s and it only looked a matter of time before the 4th would be scored. However on a counter attack Southborough pulled a goal back.

Southborough found a new lease of life with the goal and were piling the pressure on the Blackham defence and scored another.

Blackham were struggling to keep the ball and Southborough then went and scored the equaliser just before half time.

At half time the team still believed they could go on and with the game as the Southborough defence was looking very suspect.

However the 2nd half didn’t go as planned and Southborough scored 4 unanswered goals and Blackham were unable to lift themselves after losing a 3 goal lead.
