Home friendly match played on 11 September 2014.
Kicked off at 7:00 PM

Hello, Hooray, what a nice day – if anyone can think of any puns for when we play Eton other than “Rifles” or “Mess” please let us know! Good game, always a friendly game against this lot & for once we actually beat them! They were a couple of usual players light which helped us including the headbanded wally that Hoofer likes to ‘smash’, but aside from a couple of chances we were the better team.

Playing on pitch 1 was unusual as was no half time this week which threw us out of sync somewhat. There was particular disgruntlement from the right hand side of the team who would have been playing right in front of the warming up hockey girls had we changed ends.

Speed Merchant Zamora was tripped up, tapped the free kick to Neale who sent over a Ronaldinho cross straight over the keeper. 2 crackers after that, Phil sent over a cross that Hoff Jr buried with a firm header off the bar & then Wayne played a 1-2 with James and unleashed a thunderbolt which flew in. Decent shape from us & the substitutions mainly didn’t cause too many major positional changes. After a couple of great saves from Tys, some lax defending from us let a clean sheet go with a far post header but as we retreated to the pub there was a general happiness that we got one over on our bogey team.

In the pub there was much debate about books; in particular Hoff’s travel journal “Peking on a Pedalo” which James has bought. Inadvertently Stu’s Dad has also benefitted from this renewed interest. People have accidently clicked on his similarly named book, the tragi-comic story of the years & years he spent hiding in the wardrobe spying on his wife seducing young schoolboys. It is a re-entry into the Welsh top 100 Non-Fiction for “Peeking on a Paedo”

Plus, if we get a Pubwatch© today, it could be absolutely golden after it turns out Stu isn’t the only player with a raunchy relative
