BoC F.C. 3 vs 3 KG Eagles

Weird sort of game. Really ebbed and flowed. We were on top at first, had a very sticky spell in the middle, then finished strongly.

We scored two early goals. First was a great team goal; Paul played in Danny who squared for Charlie to drill in, second was a penalty, dispatched by Danny, after an inexplicable hand ball from the oppo player in the box. But the 10 men of KG came on strong, first goal was a good shot from distance, but the guy probably had too long to tee it up. Second was super scrappy, balled bounced up off my foot and the guy just stuck it in from close range. 2-2. They then missed a penalty, harshly awarding for an accidental handball by Andy. Maybe they were getting their own back after our more obvious penalty earlier. We reorganised a bit at the break and upped the tempo. But first blood of the second half to the oppo. Another scrappy one, from what I recall, where the ball kind of bounced around a bit and wasn’t properly cleared. Oppo were a good team and had some very skilful young players. Can’t take throw ins though! ?? However, we then wrested back control and had a sustained period of pressure, including a run of 3-4 corners in a row. However their keeper was holding firm and making a couple of good saves from Paul in particular. Just when we might have been starting to feel it wasn’t our night, Ilyas pinged over a beauty of a cross, Danny took a touch, then absolutely belted it in. Screamer! We couldn’t quite get the winner, but felt we finished on top. Off to the pub, including Charlie, who’s arm had to be severely twisted to come!

Ringer A - Ahmad Rlinger B - Manu Both played really well.
