Away league match played on 08 December 2013.
Kicked off at 3:00 PM

Top of the table clash that everyone has been looking forward to. This turned out scripted nicely for Boca Snrs as we ran out 2-1 victors on a wet and cold afternoon. You know the past results and weather is going to favour the koreans after they had a great run which sees them top the table prior to this match but Boca is always going to prove tough opposition, hungry to go top.

Boca started with the traditional 4-4-2 formation which sees leading scorer Gabir Nabil back in the side following his injury 3 weeks ago.

Boca started the game on the front foot as they showed great pressing which did not allow the koreans any space and restricted them to only 2 passes max. Gabir who was back after his injury, had 2 great opportunities to put Boca ahead but wasnt able to convert his chances. The Koreans then had a chance of their own when their big lanky forward was clear through on goal but was denied by a great last ditch tackle by john. The koreans then came back which a long punt by their defender was able to find their midfielder who took a speculative shot that lobbed over Alvin to give the league leaders the lead.

The score was 1-0 at halftime. \

Boca then introduced Jean, Munchung, Benny, Ryan and Wan into the game in hope to find the equaliser. Boca started strongly, mainly with jean and benny who seem to work very well with very neated passes btw both of em. Boca then won a freekick at the edge of the area which saw a scramble in the box and when jean was ready to unleash a shot, he was tripped by the defender in the box, the ref pointed straight to the spot. Gabir, took the responsibility and slotted the penalty home for the equaliser.

Sensing the opening, Boca poured forward, introducing Ashton into the full back postiion to add attacking threat.

With men pouring forward, the Koreans countered quickly, they saw their effort ended up in the net, but the ref awarded a foul on Alvin, who had held the ball but was knocked off the ball by their striker before putting the ball in the net. Huge relief to the men in orange.

Boca then created a chance of their own after some great run from benny into the box which sees the ball ping ponged to Parvin, who was on DM duties in the 1st half but was instructed to get into the box in the second half, unleashed a volley at the edge of the box to put Boca into the lead, thanks to a heavy deflection by the defender. What a turnaround! Boca lead 2-1 with 15 minutes to go!

What happened in the remaining 15 minutes will be the a game of Goguyoro vs Alvin Chan.

After leading, Boca still went on the attack but wasnt able to find the net. However, the Koreans poured men forward and boca put 11 men behind the ball to defend the slender lead. Even the attacking trio of benny, yc and ryan threw themselves at the ball in desperate times.

The korean came very close, Alvin, initially saved a shot from their winger (who has been a threat all noon), saw the ball bounced to an on rushing forward, just when he thought he had put the ball into the emty net, Alvin recovered and flew towards to palm away the goalbound effort.

Alvin came to Boca's rescue again when the lanky forward was through one v one, fired a shot and alvin had other ideas, who blocked the shot and even held on to the ball. Brilliant.

Goguryo had some more shots raining in at Alvin, but he always there to keep the ball out. On his day, not even luis suarez can beat the boca custodian.

Boca then held on to the ball in the dying minutes and was enough to hold out for all 3 points which sent us top of the league.

Captain Ryan commented: "game of the season for boca as of current and defence (including alvin) was first class. From Alvin all the way to our attack, it was brilliant, everyone had the desire to win"

VC Alvin: " finally a good performance from myself in a long time :)"

VC John: " I see everyone, including the forwards, tracking back and defend. Im happy"

Matchwinner Parvin : " I think second half's display was fantastic, really had the hunger to win"

We will hopefully end the year top as we head into the new year to face Bongkapi next.

Viva La Boca :)
