Away cup match played on 08 October 2011.
Kicked off at 1:30 PM

BBOB recovered immediately from the previous week's cup defeat with a very one-sided win over Olympic Saltdean Oval in yet another cup game, this time the quarter final of the J W Whittington Jubilee Cup (BBOB were losing finalists in this Cup last season). Olympic Saltdean Oval were only able to field 10 players at the start of the game, giving BBOB an early advantage, although the physical state of Matt Barton at kick off suggested that BBOB may also have only 10 able players (luckily this wasn't the case!). With this in mind BBOB took hold of the game from the start and were in the lead inside seven minutes, Ed Wyeth claiming his debut BBOB goal after running onto a loose ball and placing his shot across the keeper in to the bottom corner. BBOB didn't sit back on this lead and continued to pressurise the Saltdean defence. After a set of corners with near misses from Howard Lloyd & Keith Churchward and a couple of close range efforts from Matt Barton, Saltdean equalised. The goal coming from a fine run from a central midfielder, he somehow passed three BBOB players and was able to place his shot just past the fully stretched BBOB keeper, Craig Watson

This was almost the last action keeper Craig Watson had to contend for the rest of the game as BBOB piled on the pressure! The next two goals, both scored from Ed Wyeth, were almost identical, with fellow centre forward Matt Barton placing perfectly timed passes to Wyeth on both occasions, finding himself in space and under pressure Wyeth was able to calmly place both efforts past the on-rushing keeper. 30 minutes gone and a hat-trick for Ed Wyeth, but he wasn't finished there and on the stroke of half time he again pounced onto a loose ball in the Saltden penalty area and fired another low shot past the keeper. Half time 4-1 (although it could have been double this!).

Two changes were made at half time, centre back Sam Hamberger was replaced by Josh Staniforth and left back Keith Churchward was withdrawn with centre forward Lee (Chief) Madigan replacing him to make his first appearance of the season. Ryan Satterley reverted to left back and Ed Wyeth moved to left midfield. Saltdean now had an eleventh player. Straight from the restart BBOB earned a corner and from the cross Josh Staniforth missed from close range with his first touch of the game! BBOB continued to press; in the 55th minute central midfielder Howard Lloyd's low strike from distance made it 5-1.

In the 60th minute right back Paul Barton was replaced by Ben Wheatland, shortly afterwards, after a good passing move down the left, Howard Lloyd was fouled in the box and a penalty was awarded, Lloyd converted the penalty to make it six! In the 70th minute, Lee Madigan scored his first goal of the season, when he pounced on a loose ball in the six yard box and shortly after this, in the 75th minute Ed Wyeth was brought down in the box, another penalty was warded to BBOB. This time Howard Lloyd fired his spot kick over the bar into the trees behind the goal! Two minutes later Lloyd made amends with a well taken 25 yard free kick, placing it into the top left hand corner to make it 8-1 to BBOB.

After numerous close range efforts had been missed (Ben Wheatland had two in quick succession) and some good passing football BBOB made it 9-1, some good work from season debutant Rich Houghton found striker Matt Barton in space his shot was saved by the keeper, the rebound found the unmarked Lee Madigan who couldn't miss, and didn't!

The final goal of the game came from centre forward Matt Barton, he had had at least 6 efforts saved by Saltdean's keeper throughout the whole game and finally in the last minute, his scuffed shot (easily his worst of the day!), from a pass by Rich Houghton found the bottom right hand corner to complete the rout!
