Southwick started well and put pressure on the BBOB defence, in the 10th minute Adam conceded a foul just outside our penalty area on our left, the free kick was played into a Southwick player in the goal area and his over-head kick was saved by Mike in goal. Shortly afterwards Adam conceded another free kick, this time on the right just outside our penalty area and was shown the yellow card, Southwick were offside from the resultant free-kick. After this BBOB fought their way back into the game, Jac attacking down our left-hand side, he turned inside and shot on goal which went just wide and was easily picked up by their goalie. Shortly afterwards Jac again dribbled the ball past defenders on the left-hand side, turned inside and hit a fierce shot which was tipped over the cross-bar by the Southwick goalie. Ben took the corner on our left, the ball was cleared up field to a Southwick player who ran through our defence towards goal, his shot was saved by Mike and went out for a corner, this was played into the middle and the shot was pushed out by Mike and cleared to Ben who broke down our right-hand side. Paul Barton started to get adventurous, picking the ball up in our half and breaking down the left, he passed to Seb who played it into the middle for H, he ran through the middle of the Southwick defence and his shot on goal from just outside the area was saved by the goalie. BBOB were attacking down both flanks, Ben on the right played the ball through to Joe Marshall, he turned inside and shot just over the crossbar. Just before half-time, Paul took a quick throw-in on our left to Jac, he twisted and turned past several Southwick players before cutting inside to release another ferocious shot that just went over the cross-bar. BBOB had had numerous chances but could find the back of the net, Mike in goal had kept us in the game with several good saves and it remained 0-0 at half time. BBOB started the second half as they had finished the first, mainly attacking down our left flank, Seb, Jac and H linking well together and continuing to cause tSouthwick problems. In the 53rd minute the deadlock was broken, Jac made a run down the our left, crossed the ball into the middle for H to slot home, 1-0. Seven minutes later and a break down our right by Joe Marshall, he crossed the ball into the centre for Elliot to tap in and make it 2-0. From the restart, Southwick attacked the BBOB defence and managed to pull a goal back, 2-1. Jac was all over the field, defending, collecting the ball in midfield and attacking down our left, it was from one attack that he played the ball into H, he beat a couple of players and hit a shot from just outside the penalty area which only just sailed over the crossbar. Joe Howard brought down a player just outside our penalty area, fortunately Southwick fired the free kick over the cross bar. BBOB were awarded a free kick on our left, about halfway inside the Southwick half, Jac took the kick and fired the ball into the Southwick goal area, Joe Marshall made a diving header but couldn’t connect with the ball and it went out for a goal kick. Shortly afterwards BBOB had a corner on our right, taken by Ben, Joe Marshal headed the ball towards goal but it was cleared by one of their defenders out to Dan Edwards, his shot went wide. In the 83rd minute Steve came on for Elliott, he was quickly in on the action, a ball played in from our left, Steve slid to try and meet the cross but failed to connect. Joe Howard was making overlapping runs down our right with Joe Marshall, from one overlap he crossed the ball into the centre, Seb collected the ball, passed it to H, his shot on goal was saved by their keeper and went out for a corner taken by Ben and cleared up field by their defender. As the game was drawing to end, Jac made a solo run down our left, dribbled passed two defenders, turned inside and hit a terrific shot to make the final score 3-1. BBOB played their best football for sometime and thoroughly deserved the win.
