    Pld W D L Pts 1 Bradford  16 14 1 1 43 2 Shipley 16 9 4 3 31 3 Thackley 14 9 2 3 29 4 Queensbury 14 6 4 4 22 5 Horsforth 15 7 1 7 22 6 Bingley B 12 4 1 7 13 7 Albion 14 1 0 13 3 8 Oakworth 13 0 1 12 1

AFTER A FALSE START, WHEN JACK WRIGHT SCORED A FANTASTIC GOAL AFTER ONLY 1 MIN, ONLY TO FIND THE LIZARDS HAD AN EXTRA MAN ON THE PITCH AND THE GAME HAD TO BE RESTARTED THE GAME SETTLED DOWN TO BE A HARD FOUGHT ONE.

THE LIZARDS SEEMED A LITTLE DOWN AFTER THE RESTART AND A LOT OF WORK WAS DONE AT THE BACK BY JOSH,JOE AND HASEEB TO KEEP THE SCORES LEVEL.

THE FRONT LINE OF ALEX AND DOMINIC SOON GOT OVER THE LOSS OF A SPLENDID GOAL AND STARTED TO PUT QUEENSBURY UNDER PRESSURE BUT THE BALL SEEMED NOT TO WANT BOUNCE IN FAVOUR OF THE LIZARDS AND IT SOON BECAME A MIDFIELD SCRAP,STEFAN AND JACK FOUGHT FOR EVERY BALL BUT THE PITCH WAS LIKE GLUE.

THE MATCH SEEMED TO HAVE MORE THAN ITS SHARE OF INJURIES ALTHOUGH NO ONE COULD CALL THIS A DIRTY GAME. JOE HAD JUST PULLED OFF A QUALITY GOAL LINE CLEARANCE WITH A HEADER WHEN HE STOPPED SHORT WITH A LEG INJURY THAT SAW HIM OUT FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. MATTHEW REPLACED JOE AND IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE JACOB REPLACED JOSH AT THE BACK. KAYLUM HAD COME ON FOR HASEEB WHO HAD HURT HIS LEFT LEG BEFORE THE GAME.

QUEENSBURY GAVE AS GOOD AS THEY GOT BUT LEWIS HAD LITTLE TO DO IN THE BRADFORD GOAL AS MOST ATTACKS FAILED TO MAKE THE GOALMOUTH.

DOMINIC FORCED THE GOAL THAT GAVE BRADFORD THE LEAD AS HE REFUSED TO GIVE UP ON HIS FIRST SHOT THAT WAS WELL SAVED BY THE KEEPER AND HE SLOTTED HOME THE REBOUND WITH REAL POWER.BRADFORD HELD ON TO THE LEAD WITH SOME STRONG TACKLES ALL THE WAY TO HALF TIME.

THE SECOND HALF SAW EVEN MORE INJURIES THIS TIME TO JACOB,WHO WAS CAUGHT IN THE EYE ON CAME JOSH AGAIN,THEN JACK WHO CAUGHT A KICK ON THE ANKLE,MATTHEW CAME BACK TO REPLACE JACK.

THE GAME STAYED TIGHT AND REALLY COULD GO EITHER WAY,SHOTS FROM BOTH TEAMS TESTED DEFENDERS TO THE FULL. BRADFORD HAD A PENALTY SHOUT WHEN MATTHEW WAS PULLED DOWN JUST INSIDE THE BOX NOTHING GIVEN.QUEENSBURY HAD A FREE-KICK JUST OUT SIDE THE BOX BUT THE WALL DID ITS JOB. TIME WAS TICKING DOWN AND BOTH COACHES STARTED TO GET NERVOUS. THEN A FANTASTIC PASS FROM DOMINIC SPLIT THE QUEENSBURY DEFENCE ALEX WAS ONE ON ONE WITH THE KEEPER, THE CROWD HELD ITS BREATH, ALEX SHOT, IT'S A GOAL, TWO NIL WITH ONLY FIVE MINUTES TO GO. WAS THAT THE GOAL THAT WOULD WIN THE TITLE, SEPTEMBER SEEMS SO FAR AWAY, WAS THIS THE END OF A LONG ROAD TO GLORY,HAD THE LIZARDS LEGEND GOT THE FINAL CHAPTER.

QUEENSBURY WANTED THEIR PAGE IN THE BOOK AND IN THE FINAL MINUTE IT LOOKED FOR ALL THE WORLD THAT THEY WOULD BE THE LAST TO SCORE AS NUMBER 10 BROKE THROUGH THE LIZARD BACK LINE,BUT THE REF HAD ALREADY BLOWN FOR A FOUL OUTSIDE THE BOX (AND THE WHISTLE HAD GONE BEFORE THE LAD BROKE FREE) THE FREE-KICK CAME TO NOTHING,THE DAY BELONGED TO THE LIZARDS AND SO DID THE TITLE.PLAYED 16 WON 14 DRAWN 1 LOST 1 AND STILL 2 TO PLAY,43 POINTS AND 84 GOALS WITH ONLY 11 AGAINST NO DOUBT IN MY MIND

  THE LIZARDS ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!
