Away cup match played on 23 October 2011.
Kicked off at 10:15 AM

30 minutes extra time played. Shelkirk won the penalty shootout.

After last weeks thumping the Badgers were looking to bounce back, and where better than the theartre of "Nightmares"Dumberton Road!

After changing with nature the game got underway and for a change Badgers started brightly with the two top men Big Show and Jai causing their back four problems. It only took 6 minutes for Big Show to slot Jai who sliced it but the ball then falling to Dave Neves feet to comfortably slot home from 8yards. Shelkirk 0 Badgers 1

With Stiffy and Greg controlling the midfield and the back four holding a tight line the Badgers continued there strong attacking play with Big show and Jai testing the Keeper at every oppitunity and forcing him into making great saves!

The next goal was again to fall to the Badgers, with Sean holding the ball up and Jai finding Dave out wide, who whipped in a pin point ball into the box finding Big shows head who had risen above two men to guide it top corner. Shelkirk 0 Badgers 2

Shelkirk were then starting to find their feet and with their "Leiston" player pulling the strings, they struck back with a poorly cleared corner allowing them to tap in from 3 yards.

Half Time- Shelkirk 1 Badgers 2

The start of the second half started with both teams creating half chances but on 60 mins great work from Greg winning back the ball and finding Jai alone out wide who made a great run and squared the ball to Big show who left it to a screaming Rat who took a touch then lobbed the keeper from 20yard! Shelkirk 1 Badgers 3

Sean the Rat Kearney was having a great game tracking back and becoming a threat going forward, But a miss timed tackle by Greg after 71 mins, on the edge of our box handing them a nicely positioned free kick which they whipped in heading back accross goal for another easy tap in. Shelkirk 2 Badgers 3

With Shelkirk on a comeback mission 5 minutes had passed when a high line and a clever ball through left 3 Shelkirk players through on goal, with ash having made some great saves thoughout the game he could do nothing about this one with their striker touching it passed him and rolling it in. Shelkirk 3 Badgers 3

With full time edging closer and fitness starting to show Stiffy made a mazey run down the flank but it was cut short when the momentum of his body continued forward whilst his legs couldnt keep up, stumbling for 15 yards!

Full Time Shelkirk 3 Badgers 3

Extra time started at a high tempo and with Shelkirk piling men forward we capitalised in the 110th minute when Jai got threaded through and a trademark dip of the shoulder fooling the keeper and putting us 4.3 up but with the quality of football being played it always looked like there was more goals in it and with a dodgy offside call shelkirk had another easy chance and brought it level Shelkirk 4 Badgers 4, The Badgers were soaking up constant pressure and The Back four had it all covered then in the dying minutes jai put another great ball into Big Shows path who had too much time and blasted wide from 8 yards. so things were level at the end of extra time taking us to pens!

with the 5 selected (Ross, Guy,Lee,Stiffy and Backhouse) Ross saw his pen saved with the other four scoring in style but with Shelkirk scoring all 5 we lost 5.4 on pens!

Every player deserved MOTM today, unlucky boys you deserved the win with the fantastic fooball and work rate!
