Stevenage Outsiders 2 vs 10 Breachwood Lions F.C

<p>Monday Morning saw the Breachwood players report to training at 8am, Fildes wanted them in early and had planned double training sessions all week to make them sweat out all of the humiliation of their second half performance against Dun Cow.&nbsp; For once it was a pretty uneventful week at the Breachwood training camp with Fildes more concentrated on the training sessions than his ego, until Thursday when James Mason pulled up injured in a training session twisting his ankle ruling him out of Sunday&rsquo;s game. &nbsp;Fildes was clearly devastated with the injury to his key man and was visibly shaken, leading many pundits asking did he have a plan B with no Mason playing? <p>Friday saw a team bonding session with some of the team going to Top Golf under strict instructions from Fildes that no alcohol was to be made available to the players, unfortunately the players ego&rsquo;s and arrogance had the better of them with onlookers reporting champagne sprays and bucket after bucket of coronas being served to the players. People were seen leaving the establishment clearly annoyed and upset with the players behaviour, players allegedly throwing golf balls at people and smashing tables full of drinks with golf clubs. &nbsp;Fildes was rumoured to have fined the players involved 2 weeks wages and warned them about their behaviour in future reminding them they are representing the club at all times. <p>Sunday morning arrived and it saw the comeback of a player who has hit the headlines all summer for the wrong reasons&hellip;&hellip; Taaffe. &nbsp;Fildes decided to throw him in at the deep end and start him. &nbsp;Also returning to the line up still with his tooth half missing was rich Wharton, he came in for the injured Mason. &nbsp;In his post match interview Fildes claimed that he could smell the fear in the air and could sense a win for his team, despite Fildes bold claim Breachwood started the match very slow and look tired, there was no urgency in any of their play, maybe the double session all week were paying its toll on the players. &nbsp;Then out of nowhere the bald head of DJ nodded the ball down for Taaffe to accurately finish all was forgiven it seemed the crowd chanting his name letting him know he was still loved, within minutes the Lions doubled their lead Taaffe feeding Ollie Mason to scuff the ball into the far corner, Breachwood found themselves with a 2 goal lead without really exerting themselves on the game they were barely out of first gear. Fildes was patrolling the pitch constantly walking around the perimeter of the pitch well out of his technical area he was like a dog marching around showing this was his territory despite being away from home. &nbsp;A moment of madness from the usually cool and calm Robbi saw him rashly lunge in and concede a penalty there was no arguments or protest it was a clear penalty unfortunately for Blobby there were no heroics this week as he was sent the wrong way bringing the Outsiders back into the game. &nbsp;Breachwood could hardly complain their performance had been sloppy and slow up until that point of the game. &nbsp;Breachwood were passing the ball about and trying to get a grip on the game but it seemed they lacked that final ball or their own mistakes would cost them possession. <p>Breachwood won a throw on the right 10 yards from outsiders box a quick throw from Turk released Taaffe to coolly slot home his second of the game there was a real sense around the ground that Breachwood would now get a grip on the game and run away with it, unfortunately outsiders had other ideas as a long ball over the top seemed to catch the Breachwood defence flat footed allowing their striker to smash past Blobby from a tight angle. &nbsp;Fildes was furious demanding the team wake up and start playing even raising his fist in the direction of the players! This seemed to get a response from the players a quick neat passing move from Breachwood saw Moulding released down the left who broke free from his marker reached the by line and pulled a cross back for the on rushing captain fantastic Turk to latch on to the end of and volley home. &nbsp;Club legend John Griffin and the injured James Mason were spotted in the crowd sitting next to the Breachwood Ultras leader Andy Dye they seemed to be conducting the inappropriate chanting from the Ultras who early this week had been warned by the met police about their chanting. &nbsp;On the pitch Breachwood seemed to be taking control off the game the back four comfortably passing the ball about retaining possession, another quick throw from Breachwood this time from Pagey saw him release Taaffe down the left who lay the ball off for DJ to power home Breachwoods fifth. &nbsp;Just before half time DJ returned the favour with a neat through ball releasing Taaffe to complete his hat trick and surely put the game well beyond the Outsiders reach. <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Despite only playing a handful of games this season Breachwood have often come out the second half a completely different team, fortunately today wasn&rsquo;t one of those days and the Lions began the second half where they left off dominating possession and creating chances for fun, Outsiders were well out of their depth and would have been more than happy had the ref halted the game at half time. &nbsp;Fildes switched things up bringing off Moulding who looked as if he was still suffering from Friday night! He brought on Charlie page who seemed a player possessed he looked determined to prove his worth to the team. &nbsp;He was an instant danger to the Outsiders using his pace and skills to beat his man and several others. &nbsp;The inspirational Taaffe received the ball 25 yards out and drove a shot low to the bottom corner the keeper made a real meal of it parrying it allowing the onrushing Ollie Mason to hammer home from 6yards out. &nbsp;Taaffe got his fourth of the match after exchanging a neat one two with Charlie on the edge of the area before drilling home Breachwoods eighth, the crowd were demanding Breachwood get 10, the Outsiders players were clearly feeling the pressure resulting in a few late challenges, one on Taaffe he reacted angrily he momentarily lost his cool screaming at the ref does he not know who the great Taaffe is he demands no one speak to him in any such way! &nbsp;Taaffe was soon back to doing what he does best by scoring Breachwoods ninth and the goal of the game; DJ receiving the ball 30yards out from goal he delivered a delicious chip over the defence straight in to the path of Taaffe who coolly dinked the ball over the oncoming keeper the whole stadium rose to their feet in appreciation they knew they had witnessed something special.&nbsp; Taaffe stood there with his arms aloft soaking in the applause and nodding his head as if to say I&rsquo;m back! <p>With 5minutes remaining Breachwood&rsquo;s victory was tarnished with the sending off of Ollie Mason. &nbsp;Fed up with the constant late challenges and shoving he was receiving Ollie lashed out punching one of the Outsiders resulting in a mass brawl. &nbsp;Ollie was sent off as well as two of the Outsiders players. &nbsp;With the game entering its final minutes and everybody calming down from the brawl Outsiders hoofed a long ball up field catching everyone unaware apart from their striker he rushed clear and looked certain to score but the largely anonymous Blobby had other ideas pulling of a fine double save, earning his wages for the week. <p>With almost the last attack of the day Taaffe wanted his double hat trick but was denied after a mazy run he was brought down in the area, selfishly DJ would not allow him the chance to score his sixth insisting he was penalty taker! &nbsp;He coolly slotted home sending the keeper the wrong way, although the keeper blamed the sun shining into his eyes off of DJs glistening head had distracted him! <p>The game finished 10 &ndash; 2 to the Lions and this score line did not flatter them one bit. <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">There were a few contenders for the Man of the Match award, most notably Taaffe for being involved in 9 of the Lions goals, however this week it went to Dan Dye for a lung-busting Flamini-esque performance in the middle of the park. <p>&nbsp;
