Brewood Juniors U12 faced Wombourne Allstars Lions U12 in a league neutral match at Soccer Centre #1 on 1 March 2026, kicking off at midnight. The 9-a-side contest ended in a heavy 7-0 defeat for Brewood Juniors after 60 minutes of play plus added time.

Brewood Juniors lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Jenson Jones on the right, Samuel Jennings centrally, and Robbie Hallam on the left. The midfield quartet consisted of George Dunne on the right, Isaac Sutheran and Jaxon Boulton centrally, and Harrison Szymanel on the left, supporting lone striker Harry Johnson upfront. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity with three at the back while controlling the midfield and supplying the striker with service. The substitutes available were Archie Greenaway, Harley Walsh, Harry Bradley, and Tyler Broughton.

The match began disastrously for Brewood Juniors as Wombourne Allstars Lions struck early, scoring within the first minute to set the tone. The visitors quickly doubled their lead by the sixth minute and then added a third goal just a minute later, leaving Brewood reeling.

In response to the early onslaught, Brewood made their first substitution at the 15th minute, bringing Archie Greenaway on for Isaac Sutheran in midfield, aiming to shore up the centre of the park. However, Wombourne Allstars continued their dominance, scoring a fourth goal by the 18th minute.

Further changes followed as Harley Walsh replaced central defender Samuel Jennings at the 20th minute, and then Tyler Broughton came on for central midfielder Jaxon Boulton at 27 minutes. At the same time, Harry Bradley was introduced for striker Harry Johnson. Despite these efforts, Wombourne Allstars added a fifth goal at the 27th minute, extending their commanding lead.

The first half concluded with Brewood Juniors trailing 5-0, a scoreline that reflected the visitors’ clinical finishing and control. Immediately after the break, Wombourne Allstars struck again in the 31st minute, making it 6-0 and further compounding Brewood’s woes.

Brewood Juniors made several substitutions early in the second half to try and stem the tide. Samuel Jennings returned to the defence, replacing right defender Jenson Jones at 41 minutes, while Harry Johnson was reintroduced upfront for right midfielder George Dunne. Robbie Hallam was replaced by Jaxon Boulton at left defender two minutes later.

At the 47th minute, Archie Greenaway was substituted off for Isaac Sutheran, and then at 50 minutes, Harrison Szymanel made way for Jenson Jones, signalling a reshuffle in midfield and defence as Brewood sought to regain some composure.

Despite these tactical changes, Wombourne Allstars sealed their emphatic victory with a seventh goal in the 61st minute, rounding off a dominant performance.

Brewood Juniors U12 were unable to find a foothold in the match, with Wombourne Allstars Lions U12 proving far too strong and clinical throughout. The visitors’ early barrage set the tone, and despite multiple substitutions and tactical adjustments, Brewood could not stem the flow of goals. The match highlighted the gulf in quality on the day and will serve as a learning experience for the young Brewood side.
