Away league match played on 17 February 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

A real setback in our hopes for promotion but we can at least be pleased with our second half performance.

We started well enough and it wasn’t long before we took the lead, albeit with a slice of good fortune!!! Ivan delivered a great ball into the box which was missed by everyone including the Wanderers keeper, who could only watch the ball fly into the net. 0-1.

We seemed to take our foot off the gas after this goal went in and Wanderers seized on the opportunity. A lofted ball into the box from the right wasn’t dealt with in the air and when the ball eventually broke to a Wanderers player who had the simplest tasks of volleying past Luke from a matter of yards out. The most disappointing thing about this goal was that nobody was marking the player who eventually scored. Frustrating but that brought the game back to square one. 1-1.

We looked a little shell shocked after conceding and didn’t take long before we managed to concede a second. Poor closing down in the middle of the park led to a ball being played forward which I, admittedly, should have dealt with but instead the ball found its way through to the Wanderers striker who finished well past Luke. 2-1.

We rallied after going behind but needed half time to regroup. HT 2-1.

We spoke at half time about giving the second half our all and I think we most certainly did that. We dominated the second half from start to finish and can count ourselves extremely unlucky not to come away with the win.

We pulled level through Stevie Bruce who matched Ivan’s excellent ball in with a superb header at the near post. 2-2.

We pressed for the remainder of the half but couldn’t find that elusive 3rd goal. Mumford and Joe both went close, Joe hitting in the post but it wasn’t meant to be. FT 2-2.

A game of two halves really lads but I think we did enough to come away with a win but that’s Football!!

Same again next week lads. Lets make sure we get all three points this time!!!!

COYH!!!!
