Away league match played on 08 December 2013.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Yesterdays game was always going to be a tough one against a team who played all of last year in the Premier division and had done well this year in division 1. Added to this a couple players away and some sickness meant we only had 7 so the boys had to dig deep.   The first half started off brightly with both teams working hard and cancelling each other out with neither team able to make the breakthrough. Their attack couldnt get past the back 2 of Tyler and Adam with Harry playing in his first ever match only having one save to make in the first half. Charlie bossed the midfield and the attacking threat of Harvey, James and Lucas caused their keeper to be the much busier of the 2 goalies. First half ended goaless.   The second half continued the way the first half left off but as the half wore on, the game started to open up a little as the boys got a little tired but we remained the more attacking side. Their first goal was a little against the run of play, Burpham attacked and they did so in numbers, Harry pulled off a couple of great close range saves and it turned into bit of a goal mouth scramble with them eventually bundling the ball over the line. The boys a little disappointed picked themselves up and after a few more attacks our midfield strung some really nice passes together and put Lucas through who scored with a neat finish. The match remained a midfield battle until Burphams second goal which came out of nothing, one of their midfielders got the ball just inside our half and took a speculative shot which Harry was unlucky not to save. The last few minutes we attacked and attacked but couldnt seem to get past their goalie. Burphams final goal was again against the run of play with us camped in their half pushing for the equalizer their striker got the ball just inside their half and ran and ran only just managing to avoid both Adam and Tyler chasing him to score the final goal. The boys pushed all the way to final whsitle but it wasnt meant to be.   Harry - First ever game and should be proud! Pulled off some really good saves and couldn`t have done anything for any of the goals. Adam - Great game looking more and more comfortable on the ball and of course a few customery surges forward Tyler - Tireless game, lots of tackles and always looking to play out from the back. With Adam forming a great defensive partnership! Charlie - Bossed the midfield, not much got passed him. Unlucky with a few long range efforts James - Awesome game, really got stuck in with some cruching tackles, and when had a chance showed some good skills - If I had 2 trophies second MOM Harvey - Real threat going forward, worked his socks off up and down the pitch. Lucas - Superb game another who worked his socks off upfront and well taken goal. Man of the Match   Although we lost I was very pleased with the way we played and the effort the boys put in right up to the end. The boys always looked to pass and some of our football was a pleasure to watch.

Have a good week all and see you Wednesday!
