Home cup match played on 20 January 2013.
Kicked off at 1:00 PM

Toa Payoh, Singapore

Chestercity would want to build on their impressive cup run after seeing off division 6 leaders, Poseur United in their previous encounter. They face an uphill task with today's opponent, FC MYK from Division 1.

City are without their strikers Alang and Airul, Hakim sits this one out together with  Hafiz, Stanton, and Syaikhan. They welcome 2 new fresh face on board such as local boy, Mizan and British lad, Iain Anderson. They deployed a very defensive 4-3-1-2 against the Japanese side with Safiuddin in between the sticks, Xavier at right back, Charlie and Yusuf at centre while Jelson at left back. The 3 midfield centre players were Sufiyan, Faizal and Yus while Indra had a supporting role behind the two debutant strikers, Mizan and Iain.

By the 2nd min, City were a goal down, a long range effort by the left winger crept pass Safiuddin and his near post. 1-0 to MYK.

Then it was 2-0 in the 13min when referee awards MYK a rather soft freekick near the touchline. A whipping cross left MYK player unmarked who volleys it to the net with City custodian getting a hand to it.

But that does not dampened the spirits of City as they find a goal back courtesy of debutant Iain in the 20th min.
Yus found himself with time and space shots with his weaker left foot. His shot was spilled but pouncing on it was Iain who taps in to make the scoreline 2-1.

MYK then threaten, a corner was cleared barely outside the penalty box and with Safiuddin unsighted he makes an excellent save pushing the long range effort to safety.

But it was good as over in the 29th min as the striker outpaced captain Charlie and scores. 3-1.

3 mins later, Charlie  tries to redeem himself when his long range shot was just over. That was the last piece of attack as both team struggle to find their feet. Referee then blows for half time. Halftime saw Tam replacing Yus and Eizzul replacing Mizan.

7 min after the restart, opponent score yet again to make the score 4-1.

4 min later they make it 5-1 after the initial attempt was push onto the crossbar by Safiuddin and the follow up was a simple tap in.

With nothing to spare, City coach came in and played upfront replacing Iain.

2 min of coming on, the score was a humiliating 6-1 as MYK extend their goal rout by a simple goal. It was the worst experience for City defence.

Then it was the icing on the cake in the 66th min as a cross to the far post left 2 MYK players unmarked and scored with an easy tap in to make it 7-1.

It started to get ugly as Tam was booked over a referee decision and things get boiled over when referee calls captain Charlie for a second time in an attempt to calm the centre back's tantrums.

City then dives in tackles after tackles trying to stop MYK players with referee giving freekicks going against City.

Then of all a sudden, City had a chance to score. A good play by Faizal released Ridwan in the penalty box. With 2 MYK players shielding him, Ridwan skips past one defender but was brought down by the other. The referee waved play on. Ridwan lashed out on the player by  tripping him and then kicks him on the head as he tries to jump over the fallen MYK player. The referee saw the incident calls Ridwan over and showed him a straight red and was deaf ears on the City coach explaination.

Referee ends the match early and it was really ugly as Tam went over to the Japanese dugout followed by Indra, Captain Charlie then tries to be peacemaker and was shoved away as a bust up between City captain and Tam. City players had to separate them both.

City coach declined to comment after the game.
