Away league match played on 15 January 2011.
Kicked off at 2:00 AM

This week saw a much better performance all round, Gav went in goal as Gary was away watching Grease. Nana come in for Ricky who was at civil partnership, New signing Jack come in for Ryan and Dan was back after returning from a 6 week training camp in Skegness.

We started better than the previous week (it could not have been any worse!) creating some half chances and playing some good football. We still found ourselves one nil down as midway through the 1st half as they took a free kick quickly and the player was unmarked to score. We were not quick enough getting organised for their free kick, we need to be on the ball literally, get your man marked and be switched on at all times we will make mistakes but we need to learn from them. Collegians were only ever going to score from a mistake and we made that by not reacting quick enough.

We carried on playing some good football against a team that were not the best technically but made up for that in effort. We deservedly equalised soon after their goal when Luis put a lovely ball to Deano who finished well on the volley. Deano had the ball in the net again only for the ref to rule it out for offside. We did take the lead with a superb goal from Luis who picked the ball up just outside their box, turned their defender inside out and unleashed an almighty toe punt to beat the keeper at the near post to put us 1-2 up at half time.

The 2nd half was all us and my only disappointment was that we only scored 2 more goals. Luis got his second & our 3rd to complete his hat trick and a timely return to form.

Overalll we dominated the majority of the game, Gav did not have much to do, but doing what he had too well. Dan Jack Ad and Matt run the midfield. Jack had a great game on his debut winning lots of tackles and passing the ball about nicely, he will only get better as he plays more games and gets to know the rest of the squad. Dan picked up where he left off and Ad is finally starting to enjoy his football and play with a smile on his face. Matt played superbly even if he shouldn’t have really been playing without his phantom of opera mask!

The Defence looked solid with Nana, Dal, Chris & Eddy all having s having a good game. Deano linked up with Ad & Luis well and got his goal but the man of the match was Luis who had a great game and scoring a perfect hat trick to top it off. The players who come on also made an impact which is good to see.

Overall we were better than them and gained our 1st win of the new year, hopefully with competition  for places hoting up everyone knows that they have got to play for their places.

Lets make sure we carry the confidence onto this week against All Claims II
