Crowland Juniors U13s 2025/2026 hosted Deeping United FC U13 Red at Snowden Pavilion and Sports Field on the morning of 28 September 2025, with kick-off at 9:00am. The league encounter ended in a narrow 2-1 victory for the home side after a pulsating 90 minutes of football.
Crowland Juniors lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation, a setup designed to provide defensive solidity with a lone holding midfielder shielding the back four, while deploying four attacking midfielders to support the lone striker. Tyler Rammell took his place between the sticks as goalkeeper. The defensive line consisted of Joshua Thind at right back, Lloris Kanyua and Kaiden Tee as central defenders, and Thomas Nairpour on the left flank. Albie Daniels operated as the single holding central midfielder, tasked with breaking up opposition play and distributing the ball forward. Ahead of him, Josh Santos occupied the right attacking midfield position, Preston Bucknell and Matheus Simoes played centrally as attacking midfielders, and Patrick Ion took up the left attacking midfield role. Leading the line was striker Miguel Pires. The substitutes named were Maisie West and Tommy Bradley.
From the outset, Crowland Juniors showed intent, with Kaiden Tee’s defensive composure and ability to launch attacks proving vital. The first breakthrough came in the 11th minute when Kaiden Tee’s precise assist found Josh Santos, who finished confidently to give the hosts an early lead. The goal set the tone for the match, with Crowland Juniors pressing high and looking to control possession through their midfield quartet.
The home side doubled their advantage in the 23rd minute. Patrick Ion’s clever delivery found striker Miguel Pires, who made no mistake in slotting the ball past the Deeping United goalkeeper. This goal highlighted the effectiveness of Crowland’s attacking midfielders in linking play and creating chances for their forward.
Shortly after the second goal, Crowland Juniors made a double substitution at the 25th minute mark. Maisie West replaced Patrick Ion on the left attacking midfield, while Tommy Bradley came on for Matheus Simoes in the central attacking midfield role. These changes aimed to inject fresh energy into the midfield as Deeping United sought to respond.
The first half concluded with Crowland Juniors holding a comfortable 2-0 lead, having controlled much of the game through their midfield dominance and solid defensive organisation.
Deeping United came out strongly after the break and reduced the deficit just three minutes into the second half, scoring in the 48th minute. This goal gave the visitors renewed belief and set up a tense finale.
In response, Crowland Juniors made further substitutions to maintain their momentum. At the 50th minute, Patrick Ion was reintroduced to the left attacking midfield position, replacing Maisie West. A minute later, Tommy Bradley came on again for Matheus Simoes, indicating a tactical reshuffle to shore up the midfield and attack.
Despite Deeping United’s efforts to find an equaliser, Crowland Juniors’ defensive unit, marshalled by central defenders Lloris Kanyua and Kaiden Tee, alongside the full-backs Joshua Thind and Thomas Nairpour, held firm. Tyler Rammell’s goalkeeping was also crucial in preserving the lead during the closing stages.
Ultimately, Crowland Juniors secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory, a result that reflected their tactical discipline and clinical finishing in the first half. The 4-1-4-1 formation proved effective in balancing defensive responsibilities with attacking threat, allowing the team to control the game and respond well to the opposition’s second-half challenge. MVP Kaiden Tee- unbeatable in the air a real player of the match performance!
