7TH LEAGUE GAME OF THE SEASON: 1ST IN THE LEAGUE VS 2ND IN THE LEAGUE.

It a Big Game today for both sides going in to the league both joint top on points but Westminster top by goal difference with an impressive 20 goals scored & 2 goals conceded in 5 games we knew that it weren't gonna be an easy game for De Novo.

With only 12 fit players to choose from due to the injury list of players: Anthony Gallagher, Craig Gartell & Wayne Hibbert, Manager Beefy had to do with pretty much no plan b.

Starting Line-up: (4-5-1) Paul, Liam, Dan, Kev, Powell, Ash, Wayne, Chico, Ricky, Alex & Adoo. Subs: Dazza.

First Half:

Started off not very comfortable with the muddy & wet conditions giving the ball away & playing long balls & with that we ended up conceding a very sloppy goal. Westminster had a corner & played a short ball to there right back who delivered a nice ball in to the box for them to put a tap in straight in the net 1-0.....Westminster. Now with De Novo trailing & it meaning a must win game for the greens it took a bit of magic from Alex Odwell to put us level. De Novo were awarded a free-kick from 30 yards & Alex stepped up & smashed the ball past the keeper in to the top left corner 1-1....De Novo. It only took us 3 minutes later to be in the lead with a great cross from the left from Anthony Adoo & for Alex Odwell to head the ball in to the net 2-1....De Novo. Now with De Novo deservedly in the lead it took 8 mins later for Alex to complete his Hat-Trick with again great play from Adoo on the left taking on 3 defenders & to put a great threw ball to Alex to smash the ball in the net 3-1...De Novo.

Second Half:

Now with the De Novo boys in the lead & hungry for more goals against a Westminster side that only conceded 2 goals in 5 games prior to today we needed to add another fast & with that we did with a great run from Liam Boon on the right to put a great threw ball splitting threw the defence & on the end of it Chico to neatly tap the ball in to net 4-1...De Novo. Now with the De Novo boys cruising missing a hat full of chances to kill off the game it took a bit of slack defending from Daniel & Dazza to concede a goal for Westminster with there right winger lofting the ball in to the box Dazza headed the ball on to Daniel's back & gave them a gifted goal 4-2....Westminster. But 4 minutes later it was De Novo who wrapped the game up with a perfect cross from Chico from the left to set up Ashley Boon with a nice header in to the net 5-2....De Novo. Now with a nice comfortable lead with only a few minutes left it just weren't gonna be Westminster's day & the final whistle was blown & De Novo were deservedly awarded 3 points.

Well Done today boys that was a great performance from everyone against a very organized side, you all showed to the Gaffa & Coach that you are ball winners & you ALL can play football as a Unit.
