Dominic Football Academy hosted Skystar FA at Don Bonsco on 3 May 2026, with kick-off at 2:00pm in a crucial cup tie. The match lasted 100 minutes including added time, and Dominic Football Academy emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline.

Dominic Football Academy lined up in a 4-1-2-3 formation, deploying a balanced approach designed to control midfield and exploit width in attack. In goal, Ogunlusi Opeyemi was tasked with commanding the defensive line. The back four consisted of Olasunboye Paul at right back, Aremu Daniel and Adejumo Samad as central defenders, and Moshud Samad on the left. Ajani Seleem operated as the lone holding midfielder, providing protection and distribution from deep. Ahead of him, Adeoye David occupied the right attacking midfield role, while Adeyemi Abdullahi took up the left attacking midfield position. The front three featured Abidoye Emmanuel on the right wing, John Precious as the central striker, and Olapade Khalid on the left wing. The substitutes available were Olayiwola Selim, Awoyemi Favour, Alowonle Jamiu, Miracle Hazard, and Quadri O.

The match began with intensity, and early on, Dominic’s left attacking midfielder Adeyemi Abdullahi received a yellow card in the 16th minute for a foul, signalling a physical contest. However, it was Dominic Football Academy who struck first when Adeoye David, playing on the right attacking midfield, found the net in the 22nd minute to give the hosts an early lead. Skystar FA responded quickly, equalising eight minutes later in the 30th minute to level the score at 1-1.

As the first half drew to a close, both sides sought to assert control, but no further goals came before half-time, which was officially called at the 50th minute mark. At the interval, Dominic Football Academy made two substitutions immediately after the break. Olayiwola Selim replaced the booked Adeyemi Abdullahi on the left attacking midfield, while Awoyemi Favour came on for central defender Adejumo Samad, signalling a tactical shift to maintain defensive solidity and freshen the attack.

The second half saw Dominic Football Academy regain the initiative. In the 70th minute, Olayiwola Selim scored his first goal of the match, expertly finishing off a move set up by an assist from Adeoye David, who was proving to be a key creative force. Shortly after, Dominic made further attacking substitutions with Alowonle Jamiu coming on for right forward Abidoye Emmanuel in the 72nd minute and Miracle Hazard replacing striker John Precious in the 73rd minute, aiming to maintain the attacking momentum.

Dominic Football Academy’s left forward, Olapade Khalid, stepped up to take a penalty in the 78th minute but was unable to convert, missing the chance to extend the lead. Nevertheless, the team’s dominance was restored when Ajani Seleem, the central midfielder sitting just ahead of the defence, scored in the 83rd minute, again assisted by Adeoye David, who continued to influence the game decisively.

The match grew increasingly physical, with Adeoye David receiving a yellow card in the 87th minute for a late challenge. Shortly after, goalkeeper Ogunlusi Opeyemi was substituted off in the 88th minute for Quadri O, possibly due to injury or tactical reasons. The intensity remained high as Olapade Khalid also picked up a yellow card in the 89th minute.

Dominic Football Academy’s 3-1 victory was a testament to their tactical discipline and attacking prowess, particularly through the contributions of Adeoye David, who scored once and assisted twice. The defensive reshuffle after half-time helped maintain their lead against a resilient Skystar FA side. The referee, Samuel Jumo, managed the match with authority throughout the 100 minutes of play.
